Lent 2023

During this very important time in the Church year, which started last week with our ‘Go Purple’ day and Ash Wednesday service, we will be taking part in lots of activities in and out of school. For the five Fridays leading up to Holy Week, each class will take part in a ‘Lenterprise’ activity. This is a mini-enterprise project designed and marketed by children in each class, resulting in an item that will be on sale to other children at break times. We will send a reminder out nearer the time for children to bring in money, should they wish to purchase items – in the past this has been toast, fruit kebabs or items children have created themselves. We will be hosting a Lenten workshop to other Catholic schools in the district who will join our GIFT team on Tuesday 28th March. There will also be the opportunity for all of our children to take part in a special Lent Quest each Friday lunchtime which will be led by the GIFT team. There will be many more things happening in classes as well as we work our way through Lent.

Please stay tuned to this page and at the end of Lent, we will display everything that we have done in school.

Below are some of the activities we enjoyed during Lent 2023...

'Lenten Workshop' - March 2023 - Our GIFT Team planned and led a whole afternoon for our friends from ten different primary and secondary schools from District 11. The theme for the afternoon was the 'Coins for CAFOD' initiative. Events included a meditational Worship, decorating a 6 foot cross where each school designed a part to link with our theme for the day, a GIFT team led Worship and a quiz hosted by the Knights of St. Columba.

Lent 2022

Taking into account the various restrictions surrounding Lent this year, these are the ways we will be adapting our activities at school so we can still take a full part in this  important Church season.  This way we can be close to Jesus during this time of reflection and preparation before the celebrations of Easter.
