God's Gardeners

Miss Schofield has been very busy getting together a group of keen and enthusiastic children to join our 'God's Gardeners' after-school club. This is all part of our school's pledge to 'Care for our Common Home' and learn about and look after God's world. The children will be involved in many different activities, many of which will be seasonal. Below is a timetable of things to look forward to including a visit and talk from a local bee-keeper, clay green-man making, a wormery, making bird-boxes, planting sun-flowers, painting plant pots and growing and tidying the eco-garden.

Alongside the visitors involved, we also hope to confirm soon the parishioners who will also become 'God's Gardeners.'

Well done to our 'God's Gardeners' and Miss Schofield for their Level 4 Gardening Certificate. We are just one level away from becoming a Gardening School!

Well done to our God's Gardeners - Level 3 achieved! Only 2 more levels to go!

Well done to Miss Schofield and our God's Gardeners. They have received the Level 2 Garden Schools certificate and are now aiming for Level 3!

Lots of children have been busy helping in our garden over the past few weeks. We are growing pumpkins in time for halloween in a special pumpkin patch, strawberries, tomatoes, potatoes and lots of other fruit and vegetables. We look forward to making a donation to the local foodbank really soon!

Potato growing and lots of other things going on during our 'God's Gardeners' session last night.

Congratulations to our newly formed ‘God’s Gardeners’ team led by Miss Schofield. They have been extremely busy with a variety of activities in our eco-garden and have been rewarded with a Level 1 ‘School Gardening Certificate of Achievement’ award. They are well on their way to securing Level 2. Thank you to Miss Schofield for giving up her own time to get this initiative going and putting so much care and effort into it! If any parishioners would like to get involved, please phone school to talk to Miss Schofield – it would be great to see you!
